Ignoring the elephants in the room

Ignoring the elephants in the room

Your company can never be better than the ingredients it's made from.

I'm constantly hearing how we need:
- more motivated people
- increased maturity
- the "right mindset"
- more A players
- better teams

These assume there is “deadwood” in your company.

If you have deadwood in your company,
there are only two ways it got there:

Either you hired dead wood,
or you hired live wood and killed it.

What's killing it?
Those parts of the elephant that are still in the room.

While there are many potential ingredients,
the first step is to stop destroying a tasty dish with expired ingredients.

Stop blaming your people, and realise that their performance is a product of the environment you’ve created.

To improve the results, improve the environment.

I’d love to guide and show you how.
